gift of love

This Website is a gift of love.  This space was created as a gift –

To myself.

To my husband.

To my mom.

To my children.

And to anyone whose life has been touched by trauma in any form.

It is also a gift to the caregivers, the helpers, and the ones who’ve stood by me, whether holding my hand, advocating for my care, or simply offering quiet presence. I continue to learn something from every person I come into contact with, even those I may not consciously remember.

When I first came home from the hospital, my body was there… but not all of me.
Not really. Though broken, my body looked mostly the same. But when I looked in the mirror, the reflection staring back felt both familiar and foreign. I was different, not just physically, but in spirit, in thought, and in the quiet places no one could see.

I initially spent my time desperately trying to getting to learn about the “new” me, while remembering, and in some instances mourning the version of the me I used to be…the parts I’ve had to let go of. However, as time goes on, it’s becoming less about redefining the “new me”…and more about enjoying who I am now, just as I am, here in this moment.  This isn’t a life about going backward.  It’s about moving forward with grace, grit, hope, and purpose.

I am on a mission to reinvent myself, one piece at a time; not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary. It’s a commitment. To healing. To show up every day. To living boldly and confidently in the person I’ve been becoming this whole time, even through the setbacks, the plateaus, and the moments where progress felt invisible.

Our Blog and Updates page offers a window into that world; a glimpse of what it’s like to live with a polytrauma diagnosis, and all the layers that come with it. The journey is not linear, and it’s not always easy to share. But as time goes on, I will continue to offer pieces of it here…… one step, one story, one insight at a time.

My goals are basic:
To be real.
To educate.
To share.
To grow.
In my recovery, in my advocacy, in my ability to cope, and in my ability to thrive.
