2025 Radio Show Archive

From January through August 2025, there were no Brain Injury Radio shows due to the sudden closure of the previous hosting site. During that time, the Brain Injury Radio team worked hard to save as much content as possible from past broadcasts and to secure a new platform that could support the extensive archives, and allow us to continue with scheduling additional co-hosted “Recovery Now” radio shows.

Meanwhile, Kim Justus and I continued supporting the growth of the show in the background – exploring new topics, doing research, and focusing on areas of our lives that needed the most attention while we waited for the next phase.

The good news is that a new platform was found: Spreaker with iHeart Radio. We are still learning how to incorporate all the “live” listening features we would like, but for now, our plan is to record the show on Zoom, provide listeners with a Zoom link to join during recording, and then upload the completed shows to Spreaker. The “on demand” options for all our previous shows can be found there as well.

The most exciting part of this transition is becoming part of iHeart Radio, which expands our reach to a much larger audience across multiple listening platforms. Looking ahead, we have also moved to a twice-a-month co-hosted show, instead of the previous one held once monthly.

Recovery Now, Where We’ve Been – Sept is Brain Aneurysm Awareness – Remembering 9/11 – September 10, 2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

Welcome back Recovery Now and Brain Injury Radio! It’s been 9 mo since we’ve done a show and now we’re ready to launch a regular schedule. I’m Kim Justus and will Host each Wednesday Night on Zoom live (as I have for 15yrs), and then dropping the new episode here the following day. Live show is typically 6pm PAC/9pm EST. Will post your invite to join us prior to the episode on Facebook: braininjuryradionetwork or inflash.org, and the website https://inaflash.org.

We’ll start the show talking about where we have been this year and our journey to Spreaker.

Tonight Caren Robinson (hopetbi.com) was kind enough to support the effort with her Zoom, where I joined her to kick off this show. September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month – I am a 1 in 50 who suffered an often lethal rupture. We will be discussing the facts about Aneurysms, and then on Sept 24th (last Wed of Sept) will be having; Aneurysms-The Survivors where I will be met with a panel of survivors. Nothing like Peer to Peer Support!

Finally, since this show was recorded on Sept 10th – We remember Sept 11th which reshaped the lives of so many in the terrorist attack, which cumulatively now has killed thousands.

Aneurysm Survivors –  September 25, 2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, and we’re honoring the incredible strength of survivors with a special radio broadcast you won’t want to miss. Join us as survivors Ron Kratz, Megan Bacigalupo, and Damien Gibbs share their powerful stories of resilience, recovery, and hope. Together, we’ll raise awareness, spread knowledge, and celebrate the courage it takes to overcome life-changing challenges. Tune in and be part of a conversation that inspires and empowers.

Living Outside the Clock: Neurodivergent Experiences of time – October 9, 2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

Have you ever lost hours without realizing it or felt like time itself bends depending on what you’re doing?  For many divergent people, and those recovering from brain injury, time doesn’t tick the same way.   Brain Neurodivergentcy is not bad, it’s “Different”. Join us for a discussion about varied ways of processing information, personal and societal responses to anything unlike that of the status quo, and how to embrace your uniqueness.

Tools To Assist In Recovery – October 16,  2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

Tonight’s show is focused on specific tools to aid in recovery. Practices found in DBT, CBT, and other skills training. After major trauma we often find we are ill equipped to cope in the most productive ways, both physically and mentally. We may get discharge orders, but no clue how to adjust to our “differently-abled” lives moving forward. We focus on adding tools to our box, broadening our ability to “respond” positively, rather than “react” in self harming ways.

The Scoop On Poop –  November 13, 2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

Tonight We’ll be discussing “The Scoop on Poop: What Your Gut’s Been Trying to Tell You!”

You’ve probably heard that your gut is your “second brain” — but what does that mystery really mean? We’ll explore the gut‑brain connection, how your digestive system and microbiome influence mood, immunity, and health, and what to do about it. Some may have heard these resulting issues referred to as “Leaky Gut Syndrome.”

“Your gut speaks—are you listening?”

Grace Over Glitter – Real Joy In An Unreal Season – November 20, 2025 with Caren Robinson and Kim Justus

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and “You don’t have to feel thankful to be grateful.”

Then we begin the march to the December Holidays. MORE. More people, more planning, more noise, more food, more memories, more fatigue, more feelings, more decorating, more shopping or crafting – You get the idea. The holidays can be a challenging time for people precipitated by variety of reasons. Both “Merry and Bright” can be joyful, or illicit sadness.

Tonight we’ll talk about the challenges of the holidays, and possible work-arounds to ease the stress.
